FIGHTING FIRES WITH BURNING

TUKANG BECAK - For fans of Metallica band certainly know the song is titled "Fight Fire With Fire" or fight fire with fire. This is certainly contrary to the opinion of the motivators or other usually say "Do not Fight Fire with Fire" or not opposed to the fire with fire. Phrases which of the two conflicting phrases that you agree with?
As quoted from Nature expands so Guru , the two phrases are actually equally right and equally wrong. Do not opposed to fire with fire it is true in certain circumstances, and Fight fire with fire is also true in certain circumstances anyway. So it all depends on the situation and condition.
Thought we often do not justify the phrase opponent fire with fire usually arises because of the experience that we (or many people) encounter daily. Many people when it says "fire" that occurred in their mind is a candle flame, or at most a campfire. Yes, the fire in the scale and a situation like this we usually opponent with water, not with fire, because when confronted with fire, instead of the fire will increase in size, so said the minds of most people.
But when we are faced with a very big fire like a massive forest fire, we have to think more than just fight it with water. Whose name API, requires oxygen and a fuel, such as leaves and vegetation, to continue to rage. Now, by eliminating both or one of them, then the chemical reaction that produces the flame will not continue .

Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) can also quickly put out the fire by using / spending all available local oxygen
For example, the oil well fires, firefighters usually removes oxygen from the well by detonating dynamite. The blast eating all the local oxygen, and consequently put out the fire. When an entire forest on fire, firefighters sometimes also remove the fuel - ie remove the burned bushes! Of course this should be burning combustion controls.

Firefighters use a drip torch to start Backfire (this is the process of using fire to fight fire)
You can help prevent the spread of forest fires by removing materials that are flammable in the vicinity, such as shrubs, leaves and dry waste. The manager of the farm, forest or grassland, often pay an expert to do a controlled burn. In this scenario, managers burn 'fuel' as dry bush in a location that has the potential to feed the fire in the future, under controlled conditions. This creates a controlled burning fire prevention extension, or gap, in the location where there are flammable materials so as to prevent the spread of forest fires. This process is often referred to as the Backfire .
Now, if we are besieged in a bush or forest fires, we can save ourselves by analogy to the backfire. Ie we remove all the 'fuel' or vegetation that is around us with fire. When a major fire or flame fire reaches the fire that we make it a major fire could not reach us because of fuel to reach us have been burned by fire us.Self-rescue technique is called Escape Fire .
This technique has been described in James Fenimore Cooper's 1827 novel titled " The Prairie "and became well-known after Mann Gulch forest fire. In this fire, one of the PMK Wagner Dodge successful practice. He cleaned the area is large enough for him to escape without injury when the main fire is less than a minute of them.

Fire Mann Gulch fire was reported on August 5, 1949 in a canyon located along the upper Missouri River in Gates of the Mountains Wilderness, Helena National Forest, in the state of Montana in the United States. A team of 15 people Smokejumpers parachuted into the area on the afternoon of August 5, 1949 to fight the fire, along with a former Smokejumper who works as a firefighter in a nearby camp who had formerly been there.
When the team approached the fire to start the 'battle' that, high winds caused the fire unexpectedly develops suddenly, blocking their route and force them to go up. Over the next few minutes, a "blow-up" or 'explosion' 1200 acre fire that enveloped the area in ten minutes, killing 13 firefighters, including 12 people from Smokejumpers. Three of the survivors Smokejumpers trmasuk Wagner Dodge who practice the technique Escape fire. The fire continues to burn the area for up to five days before it can be extinguished.
Overview Chronology Mann Gulch Fire Incident

Fire Escape technique is easy to do in the pasture but would be difficult to do in a forest fire with large trees, because we made a fire would normally be too slow to consume the wood or a large tree before the main fire arrives.
Do not underestimate the raging wild fires, coupled with the wind they will move fast enough. Look at the video grass fires in Texas below. This video is not accelerated or Timelapse, and look how fast the fire moves
